Julee Beauty Parlour

Down in Tatisilwai, at the Aragate area in Sidhatoli, you will find our little parlour. It isn't a huge place with lots of staff, just a simple room where we do beauty work for the local women. Ranchi can be quite a spread-out city, so having a spot right here in the neighborhood helps the people who don't want to travel too far. We do the usual things like threading and basic hair cuts. The building is simple and we keep it as tidy as we can. It’s mostly just neighbors coming in, people I’ve seen around for years. Sometimes the power goes out or the water is slow, but that is just part of living and working here. We have a few chairs and some mirrors set up. I like talking to the customers while I work, hearing about their families and what is going on at the market. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when we have a lot of girls coming in for a local function or a wedding. Then it gets a bit hectic and loud. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure everyone is satisfied with how they look. It’s a small business, run by real people who just want to do their job and go home at the end of the day. We don't need fancy decorations to do good work for the people living in Sidhatoli.
