The shop is located right at Lowadih Chowk on Purulia Road. If you live around Namkum in Ranchi, you have probably walked past Jharkhand Hair Cutting Salon many times. It has been a part of this corner for quite a few years. I run the place with just a couple of chairs and my basic tools. We mostly do haircuts and shaves for the men who live and work in the area. Ranchi is a place that gets quite dusty, especially near the main roads, so a good hair wash and a trim feels good after a long day of work. I do my best to keep the floor swept, though hair gets everywhere during the busy hours. People often stop in on their way home from the market. Some are regular customers who have been coming to me since the day I first opened the doors. We do not have air conditioning or anything like that, just some ceiling fans and a small radio playing in the corner. It is a very straightforward hair cutting salon with no hidden costs. I do not believe in overcharging people. A haircut should be something anyone can afford. The traffic on Purulia Road is always quite loud, but inside, we just focus on the work. I handle almost all the customers myself. On Sundays, it gets very crowded, so you might have to wait a little. I try to work steadily without rushing.
