Gents Beauty Parlour & Salon

My place is called Gents Beauty Parlour & Salon, and it sits right in Itki, near Ranchi. People around here just call it the barber shop, which is fine by me. Itki is a bit out of the main city, so things are a lot slower here. I moved here to start this shop because I wanted a quieter life than what I had in Ranchi. The shop is basically one room with a big glass window in front. I put some curtains up because the afternoon sun hits right in the eyes of whoever is sitting in the chair. I have a small sink in the back for washing hair, though the water pressure can be a bit moody sometimes. I handle everything myself, from cutting hair to sweeping up and locking the door at night. I don’t have a big sign, just some letters stuck to the door. Most people who live in the 835301 zip code know where I am anyway. I keep a spray bottle of water and some different combs on a wooden tray. It’s not a fancy "parlour" like you see in the malls, but it gets the job done for the guys in town. Sometimes someone brings me a tea from the stall next door, and we just chat while I work. It’s a simple life in Itki, and I like my customers.
