Our office is situated in Village Vidya Nagar, right near the Post Office for the Harmu Housing Colony. This is in the Kadru area of Ranchi. It is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main city center, which we actually prefer. The building we are in is older and has its own character. We have been here for several years now, dealing with infrastructure and communication work. It is a small team of us, and we all grew up around this part of Jharkhand. The commute can be a little slow when it rains because the roads in Vidya Nagar get quite muddy, but we always make it in. Inside the office, things are pretty basic. We have some sturdy wooden desks and a shelf full of old project binders. We do not spend money on expensive decorations because we are usually out in the field anyway. When we are here, we are mostly on the phone or filling out paperwork for the local authorities. Neighbors often drop by to use the phone or just to chat about the weather. We know the postman well since he comes by every afternoon. It is a very local way of doing things, and we do not see any reason to change it. We just show up, do our work, and head home when the day is done. It is a simple life and we are okay with it.
