Eleen Beauty Parlour

If you know Deputy Para Road in Ranchi, you know it can get a bit crowded during the middle of the day. Our little shop, Eleen Beauty Parlour, is situated right along there. It’s been our daily routine for a long time now. We get here, unlock the shutters, and start getting the towels ready. Ranchi weather can be a bit unpredictable, so when it rains, people often run inside to wait it out. We don't mind. The space is small but we make it work with what we have. There are two chairs and some shelves where we keep the shampoos and creams. Most days it is just me and one other person helping out. We do simple stuff like cutting hair or doing facials for the ladies nearby. It’s not like those big salons in the malls. We know most of our customers by name because they've been coming since we started. Sometimes the tea man from down the street brings us chai in the afternoon. That’s usually the best part of the day. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon. It’s just a regular local business where we try to do a good job so people come back. We stay open until the sun goes down usually. It’s a quiet life here on Deputy Para Road. Sometimes the stray dogs sleep near the entrance when it's hot. We just go about our business day after day without much fuss. If the water runs low, we check the tank. We like it here.
