Deli

We are located on Station Road in Ranchi, right near Guru Nanak Hospital. It is a very busy area, as you can probably guess. There are always people coming and going from the hospital or heading towards the train station. It makes for a lot of noise outside, but we are used to it by now. The shop is just a basic place called Deli. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just the essentials to keep things running. Most of our days are spent dealing with the heat and the crowds that come through this part of town. Ranchi can get quite humid, so we try to keep the fans going as much as we can. A lot of our customers are folks visiting people at Guru Nanak or just travelers who have a bit of time before their train leaves. It’s a lot of pressure sometimes because everyone is usually in a hurry to get somewhere else. We just focus on getting the food out and making sure the billing is done right. The staff is just a few local guys who know the area well. We don't really have a big plan or anything, we just show up every morning, open the shutters, and start the day. It’s hard work being on Station Road, but it keeps us busy and we have met a lot of interesting people over the years. We stay open pretty late to catch the last few travelers coming from the station.
