Cocktail Khichdee

You will find Cocktail Khichdee over at Hinoo Chowk in the Bhojpur Market area of Ranchi. We are located right opposite the Hanuman Temple, which makes us pretty easy to spot if you are in the neighborhood. We decided to focus on khichdee because it is something everyone knows and understands. Our shop is a small, local operation. We don't have any fancy marketing or a team of consultants. It is just us in the kitchen and at the counter. The market around us is always loud and full of life, and we are just one small part of it. We spend our mornings getting the ingredients ready and making sure the stove is hot. The place is set up in a very basic way with a few tables and chairs for people to sit and eat. We don't use any complicated recipes or try to make the food look like something it isn't. It is just a plate of food meant to fill you up. A lot of our customers are people who are just passing through the chowk or workers from nearby shops. We keep the place as clean as we can, though the hustle and bustle of Ranchi always keeps us on our toes. We are happy being a local spot where people can get a quick meal without any drama. It is a quiet life, mostly spent in the kitchen, and we are okay with that.
