We are located at Prasad Sadan on Kumhar Toli Lane 2. If you know Purulia Road in Ranchi, you know it can get pretty crowded with people and rickshaws at all hours. Our place is tucked away in one of those narrow lanes where the potters used to work many years ago. It’s a bit hard to find the first time, but once you’re here, it’s actually quite peaceful and quiet. We call ourselves Boxfarming Technologies. It sounds technical, but mostly we are just trying to find better ways to grow things in small spaces. We have some computers set up in a room that used to be a regular living area. It’s not a big tech park office with glass walls. We often have tea from the small stall at the corner while we talk about new ideas or solve problems. The walls are a bit old, and the heavy rain makes a lot of noise on the tin roof, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time experimenting with different setups and seeing what works. Ranchi has its own rhythm, and we’ve learned to work with it over the years. We aren't some big city firm with a thousand employees. It’s just a few of us trying to make sense of how technology can help a small farm. We don’t have fancy uniforms or long meetings. We just sit around, look at the plants, and try to fix things.
