We run Ma Bhumi Nursery And Seeds Private Limited from a small spot in HEC Colony, specifically in Sector-9 of Dhurwa. It’s a residential area, and we use the quarters of Anita Singh for our daily operations. Being a nursery and seed business, our place is usually full of pots, soil, and bags of seeds. It’s not the neatest place you’ll ever see, but there is a lot of life there. We spend our days watering plants and sorting through different types of seeds to make sure they are good for planting. People from the colony and other parts of Ranchi come by to get something for their gardens. We don't have a professional sales team. Usually, it’s just one of us with dirt under our fingernails helping a customer choose a plant. We talk about what grows well in the local weather and what doesn't. Sometimes the plants don't make it or the seeds don't sprout like they should, and we have to figure out why. It is a lot of trial and error. The HEC Colony is a quiet, older part of town, and it suits our pace. We aren't trying to be a massive commercial nursery. We just like plants and we like helping people grow things. It is messy work and we are often tired by the end of the day, but we keep going because there is always something new to plant and watch grow.
