Sakuma Exports Ltd.

We are located at Survey No. 30, Plot No. 1, which is right out on National Highway 8B. It’s near the Ganga Forging plant in the Shapar area of Veraval. Being near a major highway means there is always a layer of dust on everything, and the sound of heavy trucks is something you just get used to after a week. Sakuma Exports Ltd. operates out of this site, and it’s a lot of space to manage. We have the main office area and then the spots where the actual loading happens. It’s a very practical kind of place. We don’t have any carpets or expensive furniture. The desks are old and the chairs are just there to sit on. Most of our day is spent checking on shipments and making sure the paperwork matches what is going out on the trucks. The sun gets really bright out here in Rajkot, so we keep the blinds drawn most of the afternoon. It’s a long drive for some of us to get here, but it’s where the work is. We have a small area where we keep some water and a kettle. There isn't much to do nearby except for a few local dhabas where the drivers eat. We stay busy with the logistics and the back-and-forth of exporting goods. It’s hard work and the days can be long, but that’s just how it is in this line of business.
