Out here at Shaktiman Survey No. 108/1, things are a bit different than in the city. We are right on Plot No. B of NH-27, which is the main highway. If you pass the Bharudi Toll Plaza and head toward Bhunava village, you will see us. It’s a big open area, and the wind blows pretty hard across the fields sometimes. We do our work here day in and day out. It’s a lot of manual labor and being out in the elements. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have our plot and our tools. Most of the guys here are from the village or nearby, so we all know each other pretty well. It’s a friendly enough place, though we don’t waste much time talking when there is work to be done. The highway noise is just background music for us now. We see thousands of cars go by every day while we are busy with our own tasks. It’s honest work, and it’s local. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the job is finished properly so we can get paid and come back tomorrow. It’s a simple life out here near the toll plaza, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Just ramu rams doing what we do best on our piece of land. We just try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can through the day.
