Rajen Wafers & Namkeen

We are located on Sadhu Vasvani Road, right across from the Sadhuvasvani School. If you walk by in the morning, you can usually smell the spices and the oil. Rajen Wafers & Namkeen is where we spend all our time. We make different kinds of snacks, mostly wafers and traditional namkeen. It started in a very small kitchen and eventually moved to this shop. We don't use any big fancy machines for everything. A lot of the packing and sorting is still done by hand. We like it that way because we can keep an eye on everything. The school kids often stop by in the afternoon to get a small bag of something salty. It keeps the place lively. The shop isn't very big, and we have boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling sometimes. We try to keep things clean, but when you're working with flour and spices, there’s always a bit of a mess. My wife and my son help out with the sales while I handle the frying. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We just focus on making sure the snacks are crunchy and taste like they should. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now. We just want to keep the neighborhood fed with good snacks and see a few familiar faces walk through the door.
