You can find Prince Furniture right across from the Gujrat Samachar Press on Katna Stri Vikas Gruh Road. It’s a busy street, and we’ve been here long enough that the locals just know us as the place with all the sawdust out front. We make beds, tables, and whatever else people need for their homes. The workshop is in the back, and it's always louder than the front area. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is still done with hand saws and chisels because that’s how we learned. Sometimes a customer comes in with a drawing on a napkin and asks if we can make it. We usually say yes and then spend the next week figuring out how to make it sturdy. There are piles of timber everywhere, and we are always moving things around to find the piece we need. The office is just a desk with a lot of receipts and a phone that rings at odd hours. We don't spend money on big ads. If a chair is good, the person who bought it tells their cousin, and that’s how we stay busy. We have our bad days where a piece of wood splits or the stain doesn't take right, but we just start over. It’s just us working hard on the road across from the press.
