Amigo Dark Chocolate

Amigo Dark Chocolate is tucked away in Block No 2/C of Shantinath Apartment. We are on the second floor, right near the Panchnath Temple on Panchnath Road. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the chanting quite often, which is actually quite nice while we are working. Our place isn't a big factory. It’s a small apartment space that we’ve turned into a spot for making chocolate. The kitchen area is where everything happens and it almost always smells like roasted beans and sugar. We have to be very careful with the temperature because the weather here can be so unpredictable. If it gets too humid, the chocolate doesn't set right and we have to start over. It’s a lot of trial and error and our aprons are usually covered in brown splashes by noon. We don't have a storefront with a big glass window. Most of the time, we are just packing things into boxes and getting them ready to go out. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so carrying heavy bags of cocoa up there is a real workout. We are just a small team of people who like the process of making something from scratch. We don't have a fancy marketing team or anyone to write beautiful stories about us. We just make the chocolate and hope people like it.
