Kushbhawanpur Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at 360 Nandapur in the Pratappur area. We are just a group of local folks who decided to band together. The office is really just a small building we use to keep track of things. It’s not very big, but it’s enough for us to sit down and discuss the crops. Most of the people involved live right here in Nandapur or close by in the neighboring villages. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate slogans. We just want to help our members get better prices for their seeds and fertilizers. Pratappur is a quiet place for the most part, except when it’s sowing season. That’s when things get really hectic around the office. We spend a lot of time drinking chai and talking about the rain. It’s a practical business. We don’t have a lot of money for big advertisements, so we just talk to the people we see every day at the market. Some of us handle the paperwork, while others are out in the fields. We try to keep it fair for everyone. It’s hard work, and the profit isn’t always great, but it’s better than trying to do everything alone. If you’re ever walking through Nandapur, you’ll probably see us sitting outside the office in the afternoons. It’s a humble setup, but we’re proud of what we have built together. We hope to keep this going for a long time.
