We’re over at A-119 in the Marketing Yard in Gondal. If you know Gondal, you know the yard is where everything happens. It’s always crowded with tractors, trucks, and people shouting over the noise of the auctions. We deal with the import and export side of things, mostly handling the goods that come through this area. It’s a lot of physical work and checking quality. You can’t just sit in an office all day here; you have to be out where the stuff is. We’ve been in this spot for several years. Some days the dust from the grains and spices is so thick you can taste it. It’s a lively place to work, though. We spend a lot of time talking to farmers and traders. Logistics in a place like the Marketing Yard is a bit of a puzzle every morning, trying to figure out where to park the trucks. We don’t have much time for fancy talk. We just focus on getting the prices right and making sure the shipments go out on time. The sun gets really hot in the middle of the yard, so we’re always looking for a bit of shade during the afternoon. It’s an honest way to make a living and we've built some good relationships here. We’re just local people doing business in a very busy market, trying to keep up with the daily rush of goods coming in and out.
