Cotton Farm

We are tucked away in Shop No. B-242 at the New Marketing Yard on Morbi Road in Bedi. If you’ve never been to the yard, it’s a massive place filled with dust, noise, and people moving things around. Cotton Farm is our little corner in the middle of all that daily chaos. We spend a lot of our time talking to farmers and looking over various samples. The sun really beats down on the metal roofs of these shops, so it gets incredibly warm by noon. We don’t really have a proper front office, just a simple desk and a few old chairs where we sit and talk. It’s definitely not a quiet place to get work done, but it’s where all the action happens. We handle a lot of different tasks throughout the week. Sometimes we are stuck here late because a shipment got held up somewhere. My brother comes in to help out on the days when things get overwhelming. We aren’t trying to be anything special or fancy, just a reliable spot for people to come and do business. The floors are usually covered in some kind of debris from the yard, but we try to sweep it out when we have a minute. It’s a simple life and we’ve been in this exact spot for a good few seasons now. Most of the other shop owners around here are friends. We share news about prices and the weather while waiting for the next load.
