Atkotiya Trading Co. is located in the Rajeshwari Industrial Compound, right on the 80 Ft. Road in Aji Vasahat. Being in an industrial compound means there’s always a truck backing up or someone loading crates nearby. Our shop is mostly full of stock waiting to be moved. We handle a lot of trading for various items used in the local industries. It’s a dusty spot, especially with the road being so busy all the time. We don’t have much of a front office, just a desk near the door where we keep the ledger and the phone. Most of our time is spent checking inventory or talking to people who come in looking for specific parts. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling and it takes a ladder to get most things down. We know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. It’s a straightforward business. We buy things, we store them, and we sell them to the people who need them for their own factories. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes the metal roof creak, but we just keep working through it. We’ve been here in Rajkot for a while and we know the rhythms of the 80 Ft. Road. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There are always invoices to sign and boxes to move around.
