Ajanta Namkeen

Ajanta Namkeen is located right at Nohadiya Chowk. It’s a busy corner on Kalawad Main Road, and being near the Mahila College means there is always someone walking by. Our shop is small, but we pack a lot into it. We make different kinds of snacks, and the kitchen is usually humming from early morning. You can hear the sound of the fryers and the clatter of containers being filled. We don't use any fancy advertising. Most people find us because they can smell the spices from across the road. The interior isn't very modern; we have wooden counters and shelves that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our time mixing the sev and gathiya, making sure the spices aren't too strong or too weak. Sometimes the college students come in groups and the place gets really cramped for a few minutes. We just keep serving and moving things along. The floor needs sweeping every hour because of the crumbs, but that’s part of the job. It’s a family-run kind of vibe where everyone does a bit of everything. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to make sure the bags of namkeen we sell at Nohadiya Chowk are worth the money people pay for them. It is a simple life of frying, packing, and talking to neighbors all day long.
