About Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) – Agriculture & Farming in Rajkot
Our office is up in 303-B of the Royal Complex on Dhebar Road. It’s a busy place because there’s a lot of paperwork involved in sending food products to other places. We deal with a lot of local farmers and business people who are trying to get their goods across borders. The desks are usually covered in stamps, certificates, and folders that need a lot of attention. Dhebar Road is always loud, so we have that background noise of traffic while we’re checking through the regulations. We aren't here to be flashy; we’re here to make sure the rules are followed so the food gets where it needs to go without getting stuck. It can be a bit tedious sometimes, looking at the same types of forms all day, but it’s important for the local economy. We have people coming in and out all day asking questions about export rules. We try to give them a straight answer, though sometimes the rules are a bit confusing even for us. It’s a small team in this branch, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon slump. It’s just a regular office doing its part for the local trade, making sure the agricultural stuff from our region finds a market.
