Our place is over at Plot No. A-25 in the V.I.P. Estate. It’s a busy area in Shankar Nagar, especially because we are right near the V.I.P. Club in Khamardih. Being a cooperative society for fruits and vegetables means our days start very early. Sometimes the trucks are already waiting before the sun even comes up. It’s a lot of manual work, moving crates and checking the quality of what’s coming in from the farms. Kadod Fruit & Vegetables Cooperative Society Ltd isn't just one person; it’s a whole group of us working together. The office is usually filled with the smell of fresh produce and the sound of people shouting out numbers. It’s definitely not a quiet place to work. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning in the main warehouse area. We just have our desks and our ledgers. The VIP Estate can get a bit crowded with all the vehicles, so parking is always a bit of a headache. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. The farmers know us and the buyers know where to find us. It’s been this way for a long time. We just focus on getting the produce moved as quickly as possible so nothing goes to waste. It’s a fast-paced environment but we have a good rhythm going after all these years.
