Bankinadi Agrofed Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Purnanagar in Sitonga. You can find us at Maini Toppo’s place. We are a small group of local farmers who felt it was time to join up and work as one. It gets lonely and difficult trying to sell what you grow when you are just one person. We talk about what seeds work best and how to deal with the rain or the dry spells. The office is really just a room where we meet to keep our records straight. There is always tea and some talk about the market. We don't have fancy titles here. Everyone knows everyone else in the village, so it feels more like a family than a company. We handle the harvesting and the packing when the time comes. It is hard work and our hands show it. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually puts food on our tables. Sometimes we disagree on how to handle things, but we always figure it out in the end. Being part of this group gives us a bit more strength when we go to the market. Sitonga is a small place and we are proud to be from here. We do things the old way but we try to keep organized. It's just us doing what we know. We aren't experts, just people with a bit of dirt under our fingernails.
