You can find B L Kashyap & Sons Ltd. right opposite the Katiban Gurudwara. It’s a good spot because the Gurudwara is a landmark everyone knows around here. The sound of the prayers often drifts across the street while we are working. It’s a family-run kind of setup, hence the name. We aren't big on fancy office furniture or decorative plants. The space is mostly filled with files, site maps, and old ledgers. There’s usually dust on the windows because of the traffic on the main road outside. We do building and construction stuff, so our boots are often a bit muddy. People drop by to discuss projects or check on progress. It’s not a quiet place. There is always someone coming or going, and the phone rings more than it probably should. We don't have a marketing department telling us what to say. We just tell people what we can do and then we go out and do it. Being across from the Gurudwara means there’s a sense of community around us. On festival days, the whole street is packed and we just watch the world go by from our front door. It’s a simple operation, really. We just focus on the bricks and mortar and try to keep things moving along without too much fuss or drama. It has been our home for many years and we like the location.
