Hosabelaku Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Malagitti, which is part of Kustagi. Our spot is at number 119, right near the Hanuman Temple. It's a quiet area most of the time, except when there is a festival at the temple. We have been here for a bit now, helping the farmers around Malagitti Post get their stuff together. It’s a small operation, really. We don't have many desks or any of those fancy rolling chairs. Most of the time, we are just sitting on plastic stools talking about the rain or the price of fertilizer. Since we are so close to the temple, people use that as a landmark when they are coming to see us for the first time. We deal with whatever the local guys are growing in their patches of land. Kustagi is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, so news travels fast. If someone has a good crop, we hear about it. If there is a problem with the water, we hear about that too. We try to keep things moving so the farmers can get back to their work. Sometimes the office is empty because we are all out at the Malagitti Post office or checking on a field. It’s not a corporate setup, just a bunch of us trying to make the farming life a little more predictable and shared.
