Sona Bricks

Sona Bricks is located right on National Highway 106, near the Madhaili post office. Being so close to the Alam Nagar police station makes it easy for people to give directions to our yard. We get a lot of dust from the highway traffic, but that’s just how it is when you’re situated on a main road. We’ve been operating in the Madhepura district for quite a while now. The yard is usually full of workers moving bricks from the kilns to the storage piles. It’s a messy job and everyone ends up covered in red dust by the end of the shift. We have a few old trucks that we use for local deliveries, though they sometimes break down on us when we least expect it. When that happens, we just have to fix them up ourselves and keep going. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just stop their vehicle on the side of the NH 106 and walk in. We sit under the shade of a small shed to escape the heat and talk about the orders. It’s a very informal setup. We focus on getting the firing right so the bricks don't break too easily during transport. It’s not a perfect science, but we’ve learned a lot over the years. We just keep at it, day after day, through the heat and the rain.
