Our office is up on the fourth floor, 401 Vishal Enclave, right above the bank. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more than we’d like. Most of our work actually happens out on rooftops in the sun, but the office is where we handle the mountains of paperwork and the site plans. There are solar panels leaning in the corners and rolls of wiring sitting near the desks. It’s not the neatest office you’ll ever see because we’re always dragging equipment in and out for various projects. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or trying to figure out why a particular inverter isn't communicating right. The sun gets pretty hot out there, so coming back to the office is a bit of a relief, even if the air conditioning is a bit loud. We started this because it seemed like a practical thing to do, and now we’re just deep in the middle of it. There’s no fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. You just walk in and someone will probably be looking at a blueprint or eating lunch at their desk. We go where the work is, and lately, that's all over the place. It’s a lot of technical talk and heavy lifting, but it’s what we know. The stairs are narrow, and we’re often carrying boxes of parts up them, which is a real workout. Our desks are usually covered in post-it notes and half-finished cups of tea. We spend a lot of time on Google Maps looking at roofs before we even go out to a site. It’s a bit of a mess in here sometimes, with wires and sample cells laying around. We aren't really the type to wear ties. We just sit around and figure out the layout. It's just us, working away.
