Yashogram Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

Yashogram Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of women here in Narutwadi, which is part of Indapur. We set things up at Tanaji Ganpat Deokar’s place, specifically at Gat No 32. It is a quiet area, mostly just fields and local houses. Being a women’s producer company means we spend a lot of time working together on the farming side of things. It isn't always easy for women to get their own thing going in the village, but we have managed to keep it running. We deal with the crops and the planning, often meeting up after the house chores are done to talk about the company business. The office is very simple, just enough room for us to sit and go over the accounts or talk to whoever is visiting. Indapur has its own rhythm, and we just follow that. Sometimes the crops don't do as well as we hoped, or the market prices are low, but having the group helps us stay strong. We aren't looking to be famous or anything, just want to make sure the women here have some say in how their produce is sold. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of the seasons. If you come to Narutwadi, you’ll see us working away. It’s just how life is for us here, steady and focused on the land. We just try to help each other out whenever the work gets heavy.
