Welcome Novelties

Welcome Novelties is located right near the bus stop in Chakala, Vadgaon Budruk. It is a convenient spot because people waiting for the bus often wander in to kill some time or pick up something they forgot. The shop is full of small things, from stationery to little household gadgets. We do not have a huge floor plan, so every bit of wall space is covered with something. It can feel a little cramped when there are more than three people inside, but that is common for shops in this area. We have been here long enough that the bus drivers and the regular commuters know us. The shop does not have a fancy interior designer’s touch. It is just shelves we put up ourselves and boxes stacked where they fit. We try to keep the prices fair and the items useful. It is not a complicated business to run. We just have to make sure we do not run out of the things people ask for most. In the mornings, it is usually quiet, but once the school kids and office workers start moving, the pace picks up near the bus stop. We do not have a website or a big advertising budget. We just rely on being right there where people walk by. It is a simple life, looking after the store and talking to the neighbors who stop in for a quick chat or a small purchase while they wait for their ride.
