Wahegaonkar Farmers Producer Companylimited is based right here in Wahegaon, in the Aurangabad district. We started things off from Alkabaipralhad Bhadke’s place, which most folks around here know well. It isn't a big fancy office or anything like that, just a spot where we can all get together and talk about the crops and what the market is doing. Farming in this part of the country isn't always easy, especially when the rains don't come when you expect them to. Most of us have been working these fields for as long as we can remember, just like our fathers did before us. We figured it was time to put our heads together and form this group so we could help each other out with seeds and getting a better price for what we grow. It's mostly about making sure the small farmers in the village don't get left behind when things change. On any given afternoon, you might find a few of us sitting outside, drinking tea and trying to figure out a good way to move the harvest to the city. We don't have a lot of big machines or a lot of money, but we have the land and we have each other. It’s a simple way of living, really. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that the soil stays healthy for the next generation. It's hard work every day, but doing it together makes it a bit easier for everyone.
