Vnf Farmer Producer Company is located over in Katraj. We’ve got a flat on the fifth floor of Shiv-Narayan Plaza. It’s at Survey Number 32/1B and it’s a decent spot for us to manage things. Being in Pune makes it easier for us to handle the logistics part of farming. We are a group of farmers who realized that working together was better than trying to do everything alone. Our office isn't very large, just enough space for some desks and a place to have tea while we talk shop. We handle all the paperwork and the coordination for the crops we grow. Most of the actual work happens out on the land, but this is where the planning gets done. Sometimes the building is noisy because of the traffic on the main road, but we don't mind. We aren't a corporate office with receptionist desks and glass walls. It’s just us farmers trying to navigate the business side of agriculture. We help each other with things like getting supplies and finding buyers. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger books. We’ve been at this for a while and we know the rhythms of the seasons. People from the village come up to the flat to discuss the next harvest. It’s a practical, no-nonsense way of running a business. We stay busy with the paperwork and keeping things moving.
