Vithu-Mauli Farmtec Hitech Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in the village of Halki, which falls under the Shiruranantpal taluka in Latur. We are located at Udaysinha Anantramsinha Gaherwarat's place. The name is quite long, but we are just a group of local farmers trying to do things a bit better. We added "Hitech" to the name because we are trying to use more modern irrigation and better seeds, but the work is still as physical as it’s always been. Latur gets very dry, so water is always the main topic of conversation in our office. We handle a lot of soybean and tur, which are the main crops around these parts. The office itself is pretty basic, just a place for us to meet and keep our records straight. We don’t have any polished sales pitches or corporate missions. We just want to get through each season and hope the prices stay decent. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit overwhelming for us, as we’d much rather be out in the sun than sitting behind a desk. But we know it’s necessary to keep the company running for everyone in the village. It’s a communal effort, and we’ve all known each other since we were kids. If you’re passing through Halki, you’ll likely see one of us outside the office having a quick break. We are just local people working for our own.
