Vinayak Hair Dressers

This is Vinayak Hair Dressers. We are situated in Shivteerth Nagar, right on Paud Road in Pune, specifically in the Matwad Prangan area. The shop has been here for a good while and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We have the usual setup with the big mirrors and the revolving chairs that have seen better days but are still comfortable enough for a haircut. Most of our customers are locals who live just a few streets away. They come in for a quick trim or a shave and we catch up on the local news or the cricket scores. It’s a small shop, so when there are three or four people waiting, it gets a bit crowded and we have to put out some extra plastic stools. We don’t have a fancy cooling system, just a couple of big wall fans that keep the air moving while we work. The sound of the traffic on Paud Road is always there in the background, but you get used to it after a while. My name is Vinayak and I usually handle the main chairs myself with my help. We keep the floor swept as much as we can, but it’s a busy job on Saturdays. There’s no big secret to how we work; we just do what the customer asks for and try to make sure they look tidy.
