Victorian Academy

The Victorian Academy is situated on East Street in the Bheravnath Nagar area of Mujmahuda C 3. It’s a place where we spend our days surrounded by books, chalk, and a whole lot of students. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while and most people know us as the place where the kids go after their regular school hours. The rooms are simple with desks and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the semesters. We don't have those big glass buildings you see in movies; it’s just a practical setup for learning. I spend my time making sure the schedules are pinned to the board and that the classrooms are swept before the next group comes in. It gets loud when the classes change over and everyone is talking at once in the hallways. We try to keep things orderly but with so many different personalities, there’s always something going on. Sometimes we have to fix a broken light or deal with a leaky roof during the monsoon season. We are just local people trying to help the younger generation get a bit more knowledge in their heads. It’s a lot of talking and explaining and occasionally drinking too much tea to keep our voices going throughout the afternoon. We close up when the last student leaves in the evening and the street finally gets quiet again.
