Omega Tutorials is based in Gurudwara Colony. We started this place a while ago because we saw a lot of kids in the area needing some extra help with their schoolwork. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which makes it a good spot for a few small classrooms. We have some basic wooden benches and whiteboards where we work through math problems and science chapters. It’s not a big institution or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who know the subjects well enough to explain them to the students. In the evenings, the area outside is usually full of cycles that the kids leave there. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that make a bit of noise when they are on full speed. The chairs can be a bit hard if you sit for too long, but the students don't seem to mind much. We spend a lot of time grading tests and talking to parents who come by to see how their children are progressing. We don't promise anything crazy; we just try to get the kids to understand their books better. Our hands are usually covered in marker ink by the end of the day. It’s a lot of work and the hours are long, especially before the big exams start. We just keep doing it because it’s what we know how to do here in the colony.
