Our group is based in Ghodegaon, up in the Ambegaon part of Pune district. We are at 121/1/A Bd, near the Kale College. Vanarinath Aushadhi Vanaspati Adivasi Farmers Producer Company Limited is a long name, but it just means we are local Adivasi farmers working with plants and herbs. We’ve been living in these parts for a long time. The hills here have a lot of different plants that people use. We aren't like the big companies in the city. We work with our hands and know the forest and the fields. It’s a lot of walking and gathering. Sometimes the weather doesn't help, but we manage. Our setup is simple. We use the space near the college to organize what we find and grow. It’s not a polished business. There’s dirt on our boots and calluses on our hands. We do this because it’s what we know. The Adivasi community here is tight-knit. We look out for each other. This company is just a way for us to get a fair shake. We don’t have fancy brochures or a website team.
