About Tulasi Scrap Centre – Metals & Minerals in Pune
People always ask how we ended up running a scrap yard at Bhawani Peth 54. Tulasi Scrap Centre started because there was a lot of stuff just sitting around and someone needed to move it. We deal with all sorts of metal, old parts, and things people don't want anymore. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually have grease on them by noon. If you come by the shop, you'll see piles of materials waiting to be sorted. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, but it’s honest. We spend most of our day weighing things and moving heavy crates. Bhawani Peth is a crowded spot, so getting trucks in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We’ve learned to navigate the tight streets over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a reliable one where you can drop off your scrap and get a fair deal. My brother and I handle most of the heavy lifting ourselves. We don't have a website or fancy business cards. Mostly, people just know we're here at number 54. The yard gets full pretty quick, so we’re always moving things around to make space. It’s a lot of physical labor, and at the end of the day, we’re pretty tired. But it feels good to see the metal go off to be reused instead of just sitting in a heap somewhere. We hope to stay here for a long time. It suits us well enough.
