Trimurti Offset Printers

Our printing shop is in Narayan Peth, right in the Nakshatra building. We are directly opposite the Kanya Shala, so we hear the school bell ring several times a day. Narayan Peth is one of those old parts of town where the lanes are narrow and everything feels a bit packed in. We’ve got the offset machines running most of the day, and they make a rhythmic thumping sound that you can hear from the sidewalk. There is always the smell of ink and fresh paper around. We do a lot of small jobs for people in the neighborhood, like wedding cards or booklets. It’s a lot of manual labor, loading the paper and checking the plates. Sometimes the machines get jammed, and we have to spend an hour getting our hands greasy to fix it. We aren't some high-tech digital lab; we do things the traditional way mostly. The space is a bit cramped with stacks of paper reaching up to the ceiling. We try to keep it organized but it’s a losing battle. Most of our regular customers are local business owners or families who have lived here for decades. We have tea twice a day and talk about the news while the machines do their work. It’s a steady life here in the heart of the city, just keeping the presses moving for whoever walks in with a job.
