Tomar Advertising operates out of Kamal Apartment, specifically at 38/5 right on M G Road. It’s a pretty central location, so there’s always a lot of movement outside our windows throughout the day. We’ve been doing this for years, mostly helping out other shops and small businesses around this part of town with their signs and flyers. The space inside Kamal Apartment isn't huge, so we have to be smart about where we put the computers and the cutting machines. It’s a bit of a walk-up the stairs, but most people don’t mind once they get used to it. We spend most of our day looking at screens or checking proofs that come off the machines. Sometimes the M G Road traffic makes it hard to hear ourselves think, but you get used to the noise after a few weeks. It’s just how life is in this area. We aren’t some big agency with people in suits; it’s mostly just us in our regular clothes getting the work out the door. We have stacks of paper and vinyl rolls everywhere because we don’t like throwing things away if they might be useful for a smaller job later. It’s a practical way of doing things. People know they can find us here during the day if they need something printed fast. We usually have the kettle going for tea in the corner when things slow down for a minute or two. It’s a simple life for us.
