We are based at 3 Nigidi. It is a small place, nothing too grand. We chose the name Terracotta because we mostly deal with clay items and earthy things for people's homes or gardens. Nigidi is a nice area to be in, and our spot at number 3 is quite easy to find once you are on the right street. We have shelves full of pots and various clay pieces. They aren't always perfectly uniform because that is just the nature of the material we work with. Sometimes they have a little chip here or a different shade of orange there. We like it that way. It is just a few of us here. We spend our days unpacking new stock or helping someone pick out a pot that won't crack in the sun. We don't have a big marketing plan or a corporate structure. We just like the feel of the clay and the way the shop smells on a rainy day. It is a very grounded kind of business. People come to us when they want something that feels a bit more real than the plastic stuff you find in the big malls. We keep the shop open most days, though we might close a bit early if it is a slow afternoon. It is just a simple, local business in Nigidi. There is usually some dust around because of the pots, but we don't mind it much. It feels like home to us.
