Living and working in Pune means dealing with a lot of traffic, especially when heading toward the office. It’s a big city with so many IT folks running around everywhere. We are part of the Techmahindra crowd here. The office is usually humming with the sound of many computers and people talking over their headsets. It’s a lot of sitting in chairs for long hours and drinking too much tea or coffee from the machines in the pantry. You see people walking around with their ID cards dangling, trying to find a meeting room that isn't already taken. Pune has this way of being busy and laid back at the same time. During lunch, everyone heads out or sits in groups to share their tiffins. It’s not all high-tech stuff; it’s mostly just people trying to fix bugs in code or making sure some system doesn't crash in the middle of the night. The parking lot is always full of bikes and cars. Sometimes it rains hard and the roads get messy, but we still make it in. We have these big desks and dual monitors that take up a lot of space. It gets loud when a project is finishing up, but otherwise, it’s just the sound of typing. We spend our days in this building, looking at screens and hoping the internet stays fast enough to get the job done. It’s just what we do here in Pune, day in and day out.
