Swayamshilp Farmers Producer Company Limited is run out of Flat No. B 306 in the Unicorn Nest building in Gunjalwadi. It might seem a bit strange for a farmers' group to be in a flat, but it’s where we manage all the paperwork and coordination. Gunjalwadi is home to many of us, and we are deeply connected to the farms in the surrounding areas. We started this company because we wanted to have a more organized way of handling our business. Instead of every farmer trying to negotiate on their own, we use this collective name to talk to suppliers and buyers. It’s mostly just us sitting around a table, looking at numbers and trying to figure out the best timing for the harvest. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate jargon. We are just practical people who know that farming is a tough way to make a living. We try to help our members get access to better seeds and maybe find new places to sell what we grow. It’s about being smart with what we have and looking out for the community. We are just regular people from Gunjalwadi trying to make the farming life a little more sustainable for everyone involved. It’s honest work, and we take it as it comes, without any pretense or complicated plans. We just want to do okay for ourselves.
