We are the Swakartutva Mahila Farmer Producercompany Limited, based out of Navekhed in Sangli. Our main point of contact is the home of Vishvmitry Raghunath Dalvi. Being a women-led company in a place like Navekhed means we have a lot on our plates, but we enjoy the work. We aren’t some big-city operation with a lot of money or fancy equipment. We’re just a group of local women who decided to join forces to handle our farming business better. Sangli is a good place for farming, but it’s hard for one person to do everything. We meet up at the house and talk about what we need to buy or sell. It’s very informal, and there’s usually some tea being passed around while we look at the books. We aren’t experts in business talk, we just know what works for our land and our families.
