Surekh Exports

Our office is at 508 Centre Street, right in the Camp area near Bhopale Chowk. You have to go up to the second floor, just above Vinod Kumar & Co. It is an old part of the city, and the building has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit narrow and creaky. Surekh Exports has been here for a long time. The view from our windows is just the busy street and the rooftops of other shops. It is always noisy with the sounds of people and cars down in the chowk. Inside, we have wooden cupboards filled with files and samples from years ago. We do not have fancy air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that hum all day. It is a bit of a climb to get up here, but we do not mind the exercise. The tea seller from downstairs brings us cutting chai twice a day. We spend most of our time talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the goods. It is a small team, and we all wear many hats. One minute I am checking a ledger, and the next I am helping pack a crate for shipping. It is not a polished corporate office with glass walls. It is more like a lived-in workshop where everyone knows where everything is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. We just focus on getting the exports out on schedule.
