Star Hair Dresser

Down here on Tank Road in Yerawada, we’ve got our little shop. It’s in Shanti Nagar, which is a place most locals know pretty well. We aren't doing anything fancy or high-end here, just cutting hair and doing shaves for the men in the area. It’s a small space, but it works for what we need to do every day. People from the neighborhood stop by all the time, sometimes just to chat for a bit while they wait for a chair to open up. It’s been this way for a long time now. We don't have a big flashing sign or anything, just the name Star Hair Dresser painted on the front. You can find us easily enough if you know this part of Pune. The street outside gets dusty and loud with the traffic, but inside it’s just the sound of clippers and the radio. We don't use any of those high-tech tools, just the standard ones that have worked for years. It’s a simple life running a barber shop. We know most of the guys who come in by their names. Sometimes a kid comes in for his first haircut and he’s a bit nervous, but we get him through it. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most famous place in town. Just a regular spot where you can get your hair sorted out without any fuss. We open early and stay late until the last person is done. That's just how we operate.
