Sritej Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in the village of Deori, which is in the Akot taluka. We have our main office at the residence of Shri Ramkrishna Bhimrao Pote. It’s a quiet spot in Deori where we manage all the work for our producer group. We are a small team of local farmers who decided that joining up was better than working alone. Ramkrishna Pote has been kind enough to let us use his place as the official address. It’s where we gather to talk about the crops and the markets. Akot is known for its farming, and we are proud to be part of that tradition. Our company doesn't have a lot of money to spend on fancy things, so we keep it very basic. The focus is always on the produce and how we can get it to market without losing too much on the way. We don't have any grand plans to take over the industry; we just want to do right by our members in Deori. Most days you’ll find us busy with the actual farming, and the company work gets done in the evenings or when there’s a break in the weather. It’s a very natural way of working that fits in with the rhythm of the village. We don't use marketing language because we don't need to. Everyone here knows who we are and what we are trying to do. It's just local people helping local people.
