Spice Nuts

We are located right in Laxman Park 1 over in Shivaji Nagar. It’s a small place but we keep it packed with bags and jars of whatever we can get in. The smell hits you as soon as you walk near the door. It’s a mix of different spices and roasted nuts. My uncle used to run a stall and then we moved into this space. It’s mostly just us weighing things out for people who live nearby. We spend the mornings sorting through the stock and making sure everything is fresh. Some days are busier than others, especially when there is a festival coming up and everyone needs extra supplies for their cooking. The floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are made of old wood but they hold up fine. We don't really do much advertising. People just know where we are. We have those old scales that still work better than the digital ones sometimes. A lot of the time we are just chatting with the customers about the weather or how the neighborhood is changing. It feels like home here even when it's messy with crates. We try to keep things simple. If someone wants a handful of cashews or some specific spice mix, we just bag it up and that’s that. It’s a quiet way to make a living in the middle of the city. We keep the doors open late on Saturdays for the late shoppers.
