Working out of Goyal Garima in Chinchwad is a bit different than being in one of those big office parks. Our space is located in Flat No 702 and 701 of the H Building. Because it’s a residential flat, it has a more relaxed feeling than a corporate office. Keshav Nagar is a nice spot, especially with the playground nearby where you can see kids running around in the evenings. Chinchwad is usually a very busy area, but this corner is slightly quieter. We spend most of our days sitting at our desks, surrounded by a mess of material samples, fabric swatches, and half-finished drawings. It’s not always organized, especially when we have several projects going on at once. There isn't a front desk or a receptionist to meet you; visitors just come up to the seventh floor and ring the bell. Usually, someone will answer with a half-empty cup of tea in their hand. We do a lot of talking and planning to figure out how to make a design work without spending too much money. The afternoon light in the flat is really good for looking at colors. It’s a simple, practical place to work, and being here keeps us close to the people and homes we are actually designing for. It’s just us doing our best with the tools we have every day. We don't worry much about looking polished as long as the plans are right.
