You can find us at 391 Narayan Peth, tucked away in Munjaba Lane. If you’ve ever tried driving a car through these narrow lanes, you know it’s a bit of a challenge. Our shop, Sms Computers, is right in the thick of it. It’s an old building, and the space inside is a bit cramped with all the stacks of keyboards and motherboards we keep on hand. We mostly deal with local folks and small businesses around the Peth area who need their PCs looked at. It’s usually pretty loud outside with the bikes and the general bustle of the market. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of cooling fans and the occasional frustrated sigh when a part doesn't fit quite right. We aren't big on decorations; the walls are mostly covered with shelves full of spare cables and screws. We’ve been here for a while, and we’ve seen the technology change from those huge CRT monitors to the slim stuff everyone uses now. A lot of the time, people just bring in their towers because they won't turn on, and we spend the afternoon testing the power supply. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until we close up for the night. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just fix the computers that people bring us and try to keep things running. There’s always someone coming in with a question about a weird error message, and we do what we can.
