Singora Beauty Parlour

If you head over to Akra Maruti Kopra in Shukrawar Peth, you'll find us at number 356. Singora Beauty Parlour has been a part of this street for quite some time now. It’s a bit of a tight space, but we make it work. Most of our regulars live just a few blocks away. They come in for their usual threading or a quick hair trim. The area is always buzzing with people, especially since it's such a central part of Pune. I usually open up the shutters in the morning and start getting things ready. There’s always dust to wipe off and towels to fold. We don't have those big neon signs or anything. It's just a regular shop where women can come to feel a bit more put together. Sometimes it gets a little cramped when three people show up at once, but nobody seems to mind waiting a bit. We talk about family or what’s happening in the market. It’s just how things go here. The lighting inside is okay, and we keep the mirrors clean so you can actually see what’s happening. I’ve lived in this city all my life, so being in Shukrawar Peth feels right. It’s a practical business. We do what we can with the space we have. It’s not about being the biggest, just about being there for the local ladies who need a quick service.
