Shri Ganesh Bag & Novelties

Shri Ganesh Bag & Novelties is at 2 1St Main Road, over by the D R C Post in Pimpri. We decided to combine bags and novelties because it seemed like a good mix for the people living and working around here. The shop is right on the main road, so we see a lot of foot traffic from people heading to the post office or just walking through Pimpri. It’s a busy area, and the shop can get a bit dusty from the road, but we try to keep the bags covered. We carry everything from school bags to small purses and then all the little novelty things that kids like. It’s just a couple of us working here, usually sitting on small stools behind the counter. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that; it’s just a local shop where we know many of the customers by name. Sometimes we run out of space on the racks, so we have to hang bags from the ceiling hooks. It makes the shop look a bit like a cave, but it works for us. The building is simple, just one of many in a row along the street. We spend our time checking the zippers on the bags and rearranging the shelves when new stock arrives from the city. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like being part of the Pimpri community and seeing the same people every week.
